Subsidies for photovoltaics and heat pumps – what subsidies to get?

Rising energy prices and increasing energy efficiency requirements are driving more and more people to invest in renewable energy sources. Photovoltaics and heat pumps are currently among the most popular solutions in Polish homes and businesses. Thanks to them, you can not only reduce electricity and heating bills, but also make a real contribution to environmental protection. Importantly – you can get attractive subsidies for such investments, which significantly reduce the payback time.

Grants and subsidies are designed to support the energy transition. Through them:

  • You will reduce the cost of purchasing a photovoltaic system or heat pump,
  • You will shorten your investment payback time,
  • You will gain greater independence from energy prices,
  • You will increase the value of your property.

Subsidies are available to both single-family homeowners and companies or housing communities.

What subsidy programs are operating in 2025?

1 My Current
The most well-known government program supporting photovoltaic installations. In the latest edition, you can get subsidies not only for PV panels, but also for energy storage and energy management systems.

2 Clean Air
Program aimed at owners of single-family homes who want to replace old heat sources with modern pumps. Subsidies include:

  • replacing the furnace with a heat pump,
  • Thermal modernization of the building,
  • photovoltaic installation.

3. Moje Ciepło
Additional subsidies for those building a new energy-efficient home. The program includes financing for the purchase and installation of heat pumps.

4. regional programs
Many provinces, municipalities and cities offer their own subsidies for photovoltaics and heat pumps. It’s worth checking local offices and their current calls for applications.

How much can you gain from subsidies?

The amount of funding depends on the program and the type of installation. For example:

  • In the My Current program, subsidies can amount to as much as several thousand zlotys,
  • Under Clean Air, the maximum subsidies reach up to PLN 136,000 (for comprehensive thermo-modernization),
  • In My Heat, you can get up to 30% of the eligible cost of purchasing a heat pump.

How to get subsidies – step by step?

  1. Needs analysis – determine whether you want to invest in photovoltaics, a heat pump or both.
  2. Technology selection – it is worthwhile to consult a professional KENO consultant to choose an installation tailored to your home.
  3. Application for subsidy – preparing documentation and submitting an application to the relevant program.
  4. Implementation of the investment – installation of the system by a certified installer.
  5. Settlement and disbursement of the subsidy – upon completion of the investment, the costs are settled and the allocated funds are disbursed.

Why invest in RES now?

  • The subsidies available in 2025 are at a record high, but the pool of funds is limited.
  • Electricity prices continue to rise, and an in-house installation can significantly reduce them.
  • Investing in photovoltaics and a heat pump is a step toward energy independence and going green.
